Safe Security Test Under Extreme Conditions
Stage 1 Heating Test
One of the Armored Safes was exposed to a temperature of over 1000°C (1830°F) in an airtight gas furnace for nearly 2 hours.
Stage 2 Dropping Test
Immediately after the heating test, the red-hot safe was lifted and dropped from a height of 9.1 meters (29.9 feet).
Stage 3 Re-Heating Test
After the dropping test, the safe was reheated in the furnace at an average temperature of 1090°C (2010°F) for another 45 minutes.
Test Objective
These tests simulated the most severe case of a house fire, namely a safe falling through the floor and being subjected to another round of heat after the impact of the fall.
